WHERE THE CASE STANDS (updated Sat, Sept 5)<br><br>Both sides have rested. Durk, OTF DeDe (Deandre Wilson) and Browneyez (David Lindsey) all declined to take the stand. Court is dark Monday for Labor Day — closing arguments begin Tuesday, Sept 8, and Judge Fitzgerald has told jurors the case should tentatively wrap by Wednesday.<br><br>Two things a lot of you are mixing up in the comments:<br><br>The $1M bounty is an allegation, not a proven payment. It reached the jury through a cooperating witness who testified DeDe told him Durk had $1 million for the hit. Keith "Flacka" Jones — an admitted participant — testified he was never paid and kept asking Durk for money.<br>35 witnesses was the government's list, not 35 people who actually took the stand.<br><br>All three defendants pleaded not guilty and are presumed innocent unless a jury says otherwise. Cooperators here have plea deals, which the judge will instruct jurors to weigh.<br><br>Verdict watch starts Tuesday — I'll be covering closings.
