  Great video! I did an old chrysler hull and actually finished it! One suggestion however...an audio compressor for the high freq screech from the tools. Keep going! Love these videos!

  Seeing the effort to do this, It almost seems like it would be easier to have cast moulds  from the boat and just build it new. then you have a mould to sell extras :D

  Being a car guy the “quit” point is about the same. The point at which everything is apart and you find more problems than you originally thought. You’re 100% correct you just have to power through the crap work to get back to the fun stuff.

  We had that same exact boat when I was a kid back in 65, had an Elgin 70HP on it. My dad worked at Sears at that time in the sporting goods department, (think he was their biggest customer LOL) anyway, we water skied the bottom off that boat for many years and sold it to an uncle when we moved. Fun little boat! You're bringing back lots of memories!

  That wood in the keel is likely teak. It’s amazingly waterproof, even when really wet. That’s why the navy still uses it on ship decks.

  We always used sandblasting to clean fiberglass before bonding ! It cleans the uneven glass better.

  In college our class toured a hydroelectric dam and the guide told us that wood does not rot if is stays wet and that the generator shaft had wooden bearings that had been in use for decades.

  The sandblaster seems to working very well without causing much damage to the fiber glass itself. &nbsp;It appears to be leaving a good surface for attaching new fiber glass material.
