GI JOE: Imperial Assault, only you don't need an app to play, don't need a player to be the bad guys, don't need to spend a fortune hunting down out-of-print expansions.

I'm sold!

Great video. Finally, I can earn my combat valor through this game. As far as iconography, Phil Eklund games are the king of iconography.

We need to chat about your deep seated envy of those kids that had it all. I mean, your childhood is so very important when it comes to being a well balanced participant in society.

I was waiting for your review, buddy. As a massive GI Joe fan, this was a must have for me. If you aren't a big Gi Joe fan I would say it's a tougher sell. But it is a solid game especially if you're a dungeon crawler fan. I will go as far to say that it is almost a reskin of imperial assault with a few changes. The rule book is ok, not great, you will most likely make a couple mistakes in your first play. And I 100% agree that the iconography is overloaded, and they should've given a reference card. I also feel like the way the Cobra AI is explained feels a little overwhelming when you read it, not super intuitive, but as you play it's better.

Great review!

Nice. My first figure/vehicle was Clutch with VAMP as well. Good times. Halfway down the middle lane on the right at KB Toys.

I pledged but backed out because they lacked details on gameplay and playthroughs during campaign. Love Imperial Assault and grew up on Gi Joe so glad to hear it is pretty good. And will probably pledge the reprint. Would like a video on the 1 on 1 skirmish mode.

You’re 100% right about the iconography. It seems simple enough to play, but I’ve yet to play it with a group cause I’m nervous to try and teach it to everyone. Love the minis though. Right there with ya on the painting.

Wow, you weren’t kidding when you said coming soon. Awesome, thanks for putting this up! Honestly, I was curious to see if this was similar to imperial assault. Would you say the cobra operatives work kind of like the bad guys in Gloohaven? The card driven system seems very similar there. I have to say, I am very tempted to back the new Gamefound campaign. The only problem is, I will want to paint all of these too and I am still working my way through my song of ice and fire army 🤯. Have you played that one?

I regret not backing this. I was all in, then pulled out because of too many unknowns about the company.

How would you rate this versus G.I. Joe Mission Critical.
