  It’s soo irritating to watch lighter skinned Latinos like the ones in these comments try to use the excuse that “we’re all mixed” and &nbsp;“we are just Latinos” . This is how you know many people didn’t go to university, it’s WELL KNOWN that lighter skinned Latinos like to use the excuse that “we’re all latinos” to hide the fact that darker skinned people in these countries are treated poorly &amp; have less opportunities then lighter skinned people. It’s the same concept of “we don’t see color we’re all humans” . Well ..when you don’t see color .. you can’t see racism. So many grassroots organizations from brown and black skinned people in Latin America WITHIN Latin America talk about this. It’s so easy for whiter skinned people to sweep these things under the rug then to acknowledge that it’s there and work to deconstruct it. But just like white supremacy , any proximity to whiteness will have you doing anything to keep it.

  why are people from the US so obsessed with segregation and race? like it&apos;s not only the skin color or nationality, it&apos;s the music the outfits the hair style the accent. everything has to be analyzed to see if it fits a specific cathegory. yet they forget the part where the rest of the world doesn&apos;t work that way. I hope you visit some south american country some day and talk to people here, ask about their opinion on this and their heritage.

  como Afro latina.... entiendo... es duro ser latino y no verse como el resto del mundo imagina que uno se ve. Aún siendo igual de MIXTO que la mayoría de latinoamérica. Y más cuando se quiere ser artista. Estar atrapado en representar una sola cosa, o llevar adelante un estereotipo, género o historia por la forma en la que te ven. Pero, creo que Karol G solo hace música porque ama hacerla, y los caminos que ha tomado han sido basados en eso; su amor por la música, y no en el peso de ser de un país tan diverso...es mi opinión

  She&apos;s just a lucky woman from a middle class family whose father happened to have contacts in the music industry. As a fellow Colombian she&apos;s not adding to the latino musical heritage the way Shakira did and keeps doing, not sorry.

  Whenever I checked her out throughout the years, I noticed I only ever liked her as a feature on Becky G or other artists’ songs. There were few of her own that are actually memorable &nbsp;whether it’s with or without a sample imo. This video encapsulates perfectly why I never been able to connect with her or her work as an “artist”. She’s no artist, she is a performer &amp; singer at best- but she’s no ARTIST.
