I think this (excellent, as always) video actually understates the initial impact of the NSX. It was “the $60,000 Ferrari killer” on release. It forced the entire industry to recalculate the relationship between price, performance and reliability, and it helped legitimate the futures of Lexus and Audi.

Man, I never realized how good the new NSX actually looks. I just never bothered to pay attention to it because nobody else did either.

I swear the 1st gen NSX has, to this day, the freshest styling of any Japanese car I've ever seen. It <i>still</i> looks modern and its performance is nothing to sneeze at!

I think you really should have given the Honda HSV-010 GT a shout on that it has at least partially fulfilled the promise of a V10-powered supercar on the race tracks. <br>Now looking back at the Super GT races it competed in the sound of that engine was instantly recognizable amongst the other machines, absolutely fabulous.

First time I ever saw a gen 1 NSX, I saw it pull out of a subdivision. I immediately knew what it was from seeing photos in Car & Driver. I wanted to get a good look at it so I tried to catch up to it, but it took off so fast that I was just left way behind. Beautiful machine. 👌🏻
