I had an over-the-top swing, a big slice and all the same problems so many golfers struggle with. Eventually, I got down to a 1 handicap, but it took me about five years. After 30 years of coaching, I now know I could have done it much faster. In this lesson, I’m sharing the seven things I wish I had known when I started playing golf. You’ll learn why the clubface may be the real reason you can’t fix your over-the-top swing, why every golfer should learn how to hit a draw even if they don’t play one, and why thinking of the golf swing as a throwing motion instead of a hitting motion can completely change the way you strike the ball. I’ll also show you why distance is a skill that can be learned at any age, why you should play approach shots as if there were no flagsticks, how using different clubs with the same simple BLT chip shot can simplify your short game, and why taking an extra club and learning a smooth, controlled stock swing can lead to much more consistent contact. These are lessons that took me years to figure out. I wish I knew them from the beginning. ⭐ PRODUCTS I USE & RECOMMEND ⛳ FlightScope Mevo Gen 2 — My favorite at-home launch monitor and, in my opinion, one of the best values in golf.
