It wasn't mentioned in the video, but this is why the man who drives you around, and cares for your expensive conveyance, is called 'The Chauffeur'. This is a French word meaning 'He who heats' (Le Chauffeur).

The Doble is remarkably advanced for its day. A steam loco driver once told me that the regulator is comparable to a throttle and the cut-off/reverser is more like a transmission.
