Im currently living in Los Angeles, im 19. From ages 8-13 I lived in Ridgecrest/Death Valley area and theres nothing really like it. The heat obviously is off the charts, I remember it being 124° playing in the kitty pool with my grandma inside making canned clam chowder cold lemonade. Haha. The sunsets, are to die for. It was just me and her until she died. The desert will always be home. Even though I’m a 15 minute drive from venice beach

I was there two weeks ago. It's truly desolate. I was a bit alarmed by the lack of cell service - if your car breaks down, you might actually just... die.

I drove through there once, stopped my car, got out just to experience 135 degree weather. It freaked me out. I jumped back in my car and got the hell out of there.
