As a Dominican who grew up with two Dominican parents I can see where Lydia gets her dynamics within a relationship. In my family, all the mothers take a prominent role instead of the fathers. The mothers are the loud ones planning, hosting, and talking. While the men are more quiet and distant from their families. They are there but take up less space if you know what i mean. So I think growing up, lydia saw this dynamic and just learned to be loud and for men to be quiet. And so she does not recognize when men are just not interested in her. She can have a one sided relationship and think it’s all okay until they break up with her. And because she can have a relationship like this, it feels like she’s always being rejected from love.

I don't understand how people pick "fun" (anxiety) over comfort when it comes to their other half, good for Chris and Aaliyah for knowing their worth and walking away. im sure Netflix will find a way to harass them out of the pods

For me, there were three definite red flags when it comes to Uche - and they are not the things everyone else points out first. In fact, the questions he asked Aaliyah when she "confessed" that she cheated once, I found them to be valid. Also, that he didn't tell her about Lydia because production told him not too - I also understand that. BUT,
1. the way he spoke to Aaliyah when she confessed her cheating which was very judgemental, superior, and condemning (instead he could have asked those questions while showing some compassion and quitting this superiority vibe),
2. that he gaslit her the next day when she told him how his questions made her feel
and
3. the look on his face when production told him that Aaliyah ended the experiment -
those were three major red flags that threw me off.
🚩🚩🚩

I really don’t agree that Aliya leaving is apart of her self sabotaging. That was truly a decision that was healthy for her. I feel like she finally listened to the red flags she’s been subconsciously been keeping track of, and she finally took action. He really is a nasty Manipulating devil and after Lydia telling her that she saw Uche 3 months ago she really figured out at how much he was keeping away from her. I’m so happy she chose herself and not this dirty ass hypocritical liar of a man. Go Aliya🎉 Love your video btw

    Ohhh I have thoughts.
1- Lydia was unhinged w her projection of herself as an extension of Aaliyah, as well as the info bombing once Uche confessed to Aaliyah.
2-Johnnie told me everything I needed to know about her mistaking chaos for love when she said she was married, but was hung up on her ex, that died of a drug overdose, during her marriage.
3- I respected the hell out of Aaliyah just noping out of there when she was over Uche's BS.
4- Stacie seems a bit of a mess, but ppl are saying she can come across as mature for not comparing her matches w other ppl.
5- I think Johnnie was stupid to fuck things up w Chris and personally- he's cuter than Izzy.
6- I like Milton, but it feels like Lydia is settling for Milton- which sucks. I have a soft spot for little nerdy guys and him being a geology geek and having that microscope made me love him so much.
7- I wanted the vet to get more air time and I hope she's doing well.
8- Uche had some nerve w the cheating thing and then he was lying about Lydia. WTF?!

Omg yes, the trauma dumping was dialed up to 100 this season. They all need therapy not marriage.(except sugar plum couple😭)

Lydia is a mess, At first I thought she was just this fun life of the party girl, and then she started to interact and then I thought okay, she definitely has some attachment issues. I was actually sympathetic towards her right up until she started love bombing Aliyah, I thought it seemed off because they had been there only two days… like how do you “love her”???
And then when I saw that she dated Uche, it all started to make sense. I’m not even sure what her endgame is, who does she actually want?

Also, she seems to have this split self esteem that ranges from “I am deserving of everything” to “I am not worthy of anything”
I also think she just wants the idea of marriage and not an actual marriage, which is why she attached herself to Izzy in the beginning and then got devastated when he cut it off, but then in the same breath she’s trying to reconnect with Uche while also talking to Milton.
She wants someone she can dump her issues on and wants the person to constantly praise and reassure her.

I hope she is able to get help and heal from whatever it is she’s dealing with.

Two big mistakes some women make while dating.
1. NEVER display desperate energy.
2. Never expose all your secrets. Men judge! They talk out of both sides of their mouths.

Girl, Finally!!!! And please, can we dive deep into that Lydia/Uche/Aaliyah love triangle? It’s giving me the fatal attraction vibes

I do understand the recent cheating logic just because since they’re about 30 years old, having cheated 10+ years ago mean they were a teenager when they did it, while if they cheated 2 years ago it means they were an adult when it happened. Basically if you associate cheating with immaturity then that logic makes sense. Having said that I agree with you that it’s very important to listen to the person to understand if / what they learned from it. And ofc Uche had no right to judge her whether it was recent or not because of his also very recent very shitty behavior.

Love is Blind is always incredibly cringeworthy, but when Lydia was going on and on and on about Uche to Aaliyah, it was PAINFUL!!! That was so hard to watch
