  In 1989 I was the drummer in the garage band THE VENUSIANS we were signed to Voxx Records. While we were recording our debut album GARAGE DAZED our producer Gary Stern introduced us to Sky Saxon and Arthur Lee of Love. We became friends with Sky and he would come to our shows and at the end of our set we would bring him up on stage and we would perform Pushin' Too Hard or Mr. Farmer. One memorable gig was at the Coconut Teaser in Hollywood when the Fuzztones performed with Arthur Lee at the end of their set and of course we performed with Sky at the end of our set. What a great night for psych and Garage Rock. Sky was always a very cool and pleasant person to be around. Always loved his stories about the time he was in The Seeds. Rest in peace Sky. Long live Garage Rock, Sky Saxon, and The Seeds!

  This was great! We actually invited Sky to play at Austin Psych Fest #2 in March of 2009 and he decided to stay in Austin after that. I got to know him for those few months he was in Austin. <br>My band played a show with him June 23rd I believe, 2 days before he passed away. So I got to see him play ‘Pushin Too Hard’ for his last time. &nbsp;He was rockin and rollin til the very end! <br>He was fun to talk with. He had a great sense of humor. <br>Another time ,our band was &nbsp;backing Roky Erickson for a show in Austin in 2009 and Sky came. He was backstage with us sitting on a couch with this woman, and I overheard him explaining to her who he was, and that he was more famous than Elvis 😄He was quite a character.

  I remember them when I was a kid. They seemed away from everybody else. I always liked them and still do. Thanks for this episode. I’m glad Sky made it for as long as he did.

  I clicked on this and immediately thought it was a mockumentary. I have never heard of this band, and the narrator&apos;s delivery had me in stitches. Then I googled &apos;em and realized they actually existed. Crazy stuff.

  You&apos;ve spun Sky Saxon into an oddly endearing mythic figure. I love his quotes sprinkled throughout; he was the author of his own fable. Might be my favorite episode so far.

  Seeds were seminal and vital and absolutely a model for the Doors. Thanks for completing the story, We watch all the videos on cults so The Source is in the cue!

  I used to see Sky all the time in the 90’s and invited him to a party at my house. He played his new stuff for everyone. One song was called “Just Imagine.” He said he took up where Lennon left off. He was a sweetheart and far out. He gave me an old promo 45 of “The Wind Blows Your Hair” that makes me think of him.
