A tip on roasting your veggies for the salsa. Just cut everything (chilis, tomatoes, garlic, onion, etc.) in half, lay face down with skin side up on a cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil and place in the oven broiler. They will darken fast and you do everything at one time, no need to keep turning things. I'm lazy and I always try to find the quickest way to do things. 😏

My mom has been making this for 20 years. She serves it with chicken tacquitos and guacamole, it’s one of my favorite meals!

I made this and ate pretty much the entire tray. I did add 2 more garlic cloves and one more fried tortilla for my sauce but I had them little street taco sized tortillas. Next time I would add one more Chile just because they are so good and I would not add cheese on top, cover with foil and you will get a nice fluffy top instead of crunchy cheese top if you prefer. 10 out of 10 recipe all day long.
