Fun Fact - Did you know that House of the Dragon is loosely based on a real conflict in English history, minus dragons, obvs! It was known as the Anarchy, and took place in the early 12th century between Empress Matilda, nominated heir by her father, King Henry I of England, and Stephen of Blois, the kings nephew, who snatched the throne from Matilda.

The giant dragon you are talking about is Balerion the dread. He was the largest dragon and the one that Aegon himself rode when conquering Westeros. He died recently. King Viserys (the current king here) was his last rider before he died.

I think it’s neat that being the kings cupbearer really is a great honor like Tyrion said at joffreys wedding showing how stupid Joffrey is as shown by Rhaenyra being her fathers

Yeah there is a symbolism in cutting himself while sitting on the thron. It's a saying that the Iron Throne rejects like this, those who don't deserve to sit on it.

Aegon the Conqueror created the Iron Throne with the blades of his enemies, to arouse fear and respect in the people, but also to remind the crown that the True Ruler should not sit comfortably on the throne. The King on the Iron Throne should always be vigilant.

I wonder if you noticed that the Dagger with the message on it, that the King showed his daughter ,is the same dagger that Littlefinger acquires and eventually hands to Bran who gives it to Arya, which kills the Night King that the prophecy is about.

With the dragons in got danny dragons in the books are still the size of a small horse, the show runners just sped up there growth by a crazy amount, the ones you’ll see in house of the dragon are pretty accurate for there ages

Targaryens who have ‘dragon dreams’ often misread them. He saw him sit his Son on the iron throne it was the stone he was laid on after he died
