I ended my journal with, “my sadness is not me, but a product of my society and environment” and I decided to watch this video. I’m tired of the sadness.<br>Thank you for this video.

You have to find meaning in creating, not consuming. Doing things to make ends meet is inescapable, but striving to make art is the only thing keeping me sane and genuinely happy.

You guys ever just sit in the parking lot at a store somewhere and just watch the wind blowing through the trees while listening to your favorite song? Maybe get a cheap soda or something and just enjoy a little slice of nature for a bit? That's the type of stuff that keeps me sane 😂

I am a 75 year old White guy who grokked this video. It gave me a new way of viewing a younger person's outlook on how this world appears to them. It is clear to me that my New Deal/Boomer framework no longer matches Millennial thought. I have grown children and we talk, but Sade's presentation gave me a clearer understanding of the situation. Great work.

I'm immediately reminded of Uncle Iroh's one line: "in times of great darkness, hope is something you give yourself"

The Buddhists are the OG tragic optimists and they’ve been doing it for 2,500 years. Resilience, acceptance, impermanence, higher purpose, and lovingkindness are all Buddhism 101.

I started crying at work when you said that black women have lower rates of unaliving themselves 😭😭 the weight behind that fact is so real. The sheer inherent power behind that, that the world is way too God damn slow to notice.

My favorite Baldwin quote "when you live in the shadow of the valley of death it affords you a certain type of freedom". He was a true philosopher.
