  This was the 70's kid. You can't look at it with modern eyes. Deacon Jones for the Rams was partially paralyzed on the field for a bit. He said he couldn't move his legs. Teammates carried him to the bench, he sat until his legs worked and then went back into the game. NFL teams didn't care about these dudes at all. Those helmets had no padding. These weren't the billion dollar franchises you're used to. Players back then flew commercial not private chartered flights. Training rooms were basic. Just a different world.

  So I watched your reaction to the Raiders vs Saints as you are a young 18 year old man that loves his Saints. I was 10 in 1976 when I fell in love with football and the Raiders!
