3 ways I can help you build a retirement plan:
1) DIY software: https://lm.fm/azul-financial-software
2) 4โWeek Sprint: https://lm.fm/azul-coaching-retire
3) Adviser Intro: https://lm.fm/azul-financial-adviser (details below)

Details for each option

1) DoโItโYourself: Build your own retirement plan
Use the same planning software I trust. See your numbers, stressโtest โwhat ifโ scenarios, and understand what you can really spend in retirement. Itโs easy to use, powerful, and affordable.

Build your own plan here:
https://lm.fm/azul-financial-software

2) DoneโWithโYou: Build your own plan with my help
The 4โWeek Retirement Sprint (live cohort)
If you want a written, spouseโaligned plan (not more theory), this is for you. In 4 weeks, youโll build your own plan with my help and be able to answer:
โข How much is โenoughโ?
โข When can I retire responsibly?
โข How should I think about withdrawal / distribution strategies?

Youโll leave with a written plan you created and can update yourself as life changes.

Join the waitlist and youโll be the first to know when I next offer it:
https://lm.fm/azul-coaching-retire

3) DoneโForโYou (coming soon): Adviser Intro by Azul
If youโd prefer an ongoing relationship with a financial adviser, Iโm building a way to introduce you to an adviser who understands this channelโs approach. Offered at no cost to you.

Get an introduction to a financial adviser here:
https://lm.fm/azul-financial-adviser

IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE for Adviser Intro by Azul
PAID REFERRAL & CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Adviser Intro by Azul is a paid referral service. Azul receives a share of ongoing revenue from the clients he refers for as long as they stay clients of that firm. Because of this, Azul has a financial incentive to refer to that firm. This represents a material conflict of interest that you should consider when evaluating Azulโs referral.

Participation in any program with Azul does NOT create an advisory relationship with him. Advisory services are offered only under a separate written agreement with Azul.

Note: Everything on this channel is general education, not personalized financial, tax, or legal advice

Congress is already looking at solutions, but the catch is the longer they wait, the less options they have. The last time SS was changed in the 1980s Congress waited until the 11th hour, so I expect the same thing here. If Congress lets it lapse, you will see a whole lot of people in Congress getting voted out of office regardless of political party.

I'll be 65 in January and will likely retire shortly thereafter. I just can't keep up this high-stress work until 67, let alone 70, especially with my family history of folks dying young.

Another reason to wait.. Ensure a guaranteed income for your surviving spouse. I plan on waiting until 67 just to make sure she is set no matter when when I am gone (I just assume the wife lives longer). Only thing that may change that is if the market takes a dive early and I need to use SSI to reduce the sequence of returns impact.

Another angle here is this, Im 60 yr old now, retired at 58. I dont expect to live up to men's statistical avg. With this said most would say that its a no-brainer to take benefits at 62 right? We'll I was always a considerable higher earner than my wife so with our estimated SSI benefit statement from 62-70, it seems to make sense foe me to wait perhaps til 67 to claim, in the event I pass early on she will have my higher benefit when I am gone. She's very healthy, her parents made it to their early 90's. Am I on the right track here. BTW, we're in good shape financially, to wait in order for the benefit to climb.

CD's are running 5% right now, pretty high. You can also use that money to buy or create revenue generating assets.

You can also DIE.

Medicar comes in at 65 and takes a portion of that

Too bad you can't start collecting at 62 but have the money directly deposited into a 401K or some path where it doesn't count as income for those of us trying to stay under the ACA income cliff but the growth can occur during that period to 65.

Social Security can be an important part of retirement, but I donโt want to rely on just one source of income. Iโve been learning how to invest and manage risk so I can have more options in the future. John Michael Holleran is the best crypto mentor Iโve ever met, and he helped me understand how the market works instead of just chasing trades.

But if you are still working and take SS early, you get taxed at a much higher rate..

These days, nobody lives that long and we're never promised tomorrow, so if you need your money , take it , do not wait.
