My favorite place to have afternoon tea in London. Going to try the Dorchester this trip too. Flying to London in October for 2 weeks

In fact, there is a scene in The Madness of King George in which a servant carrying a bowl of the king’s urine to test for porphyria declares he is sick of this and is going to quit to open a nice grocery store. His supervisor calls, as he departs, “Mr Fortnum! Mr Fortnum!” A bit late but fun.

You didn’t mention the cake trolley! After you have stuffed yourself with plates of sandwiches, scones, and pastries they have a trolley with traditional cakes lite Victoria sponge, Battenburg, etc. Last time I said I had no room, so they boxed up a couple of slices for me to take home. Best Victoria sponge I’ve ever had.

I’ve binged watched a number of your afternoon tea videos. Great fun! In many of them, the establisment doesn’t appear to provide the correct number of utensils for the scone course. I would think there should be one spoon for each jam, curd and clotted cream per person.

I looked to have afternoon tea there but it was very expensive even with the gift voucher my son bought me. I take their biscuits to my brother as a gift.

The Rose Petal was probably edible (seasonally the do a Rose Petal jam...I like it,but it's probably an acquired taste)🎩

Aren’t the scones supposed to be to be warm? That is why they are served once the sandwiches have been eaten. Then no double dipping
