The afternoon tea looks excellent and the cakes spectacular.<br>One small correction about John Betjeman. While he was a great champion of architecture, he was a poet, and became poet laureate.

Sir John Betjeman was one of our greatest poets and as well as saving St Pancras station he was an advocate for Victorian architecture and for churches too. His statue is in the station

Asparagus rolls (asparagus in rolls of sliced bread) are very popular in NZ. <br>My favourite sandwich!

Nice little tea and yes the cakes were gorgeous. Macaroons are egg whites with either almond paste or coconut mixed in. Love coconut macaroons. Macarons are the little sandwich styler cookie.
