IMO escape should not be the lowest on the list. They managed to make that dungeon so athmospheric with what they had available on a SNES cartridge. Link having to run from the guards as he has no sword, him finding his uncle being injured and unable to continue, receiving the sword from his uncle and being send to free princess Zelda, fighting his way to the prison cell, freeing Zelda, escaping through a secret passage behind the throne just to end up in the severs fighting rats. And finally you end up escaping to a hut close to the castle.

That dungeon is telling a whole story that is fully thought through instead of being a series of rooms or a maze and on top of that it introduces the player to playing the game without coming across as annoying as most tutorals tend to be. So IMO it should have been in the lower midfield of the dungeons, not the end of the field.

    Nice list!
Since both the Magic Hammer and the Titan's mitt are the keys to unlock the world I allways use the backdoor warp to get to Blind's Hideout after the Dark Palace

Love ranking videos like this. My personal least favorite is Ice Palace because it took me forever to beat it as a kid lol

I’ve always been especially fond of Blind’s Hideout and Skull Woods myself. With Skull Woods having you go in and out of the dungeon to get to different parts (I know the desert palace does this too but it feels like a small precursor to this) and Blind’s Hideout bringing back the escort mission with a twist and having the puzzle to reveal the boss, these two feel the most interesting.

    Great list!
Your number 1 did brought back my excitement of what is a Dark World about, and encounter the boss fight as a kid was unexpected.
Dungeons overall are listed as how I will rank too, maybe focused more on the useful level of the Dungeon weapons.

Turtle Rock is my favorite dungeon, and favorite Boss fight. But to each his own. Also Zelda being at Turtle Rock makes perfect sense within the Lore.

In my opinion as a LoZ Link to the Past expert (having beaten it over 100 times), this is my list from the most fun to the most painful (1 being most fun, 13 being most painful)

1. Palace of Light (1st real dungeon in Light World) - Sure, it's the first actual dungeon, so it's going to be easy, but I find the navigation and the boss extremely fun and entertaining.
2. The Desert Palace (2nd real dungeon in Light World) - It is one of faster dungeons, but it's also got some uniqueness to it as well. You start off in basically just one big room, and then you have to go outside to enter the 2nd half of the dungeon which is filled with puzzles (fun for me) and the boss is at least entertaining.
3. The Ice Palace (Dungeon #5 in Dark World) - I know to some, this dungeon can be tough and annoying, but when you know where to go and how to position yourself on the ice, it can be incredibly easy and fun to navigate. I usually skip to Misery Mire to get the red cane so I can finish the dungeon, but it's still one of my favorites. The boss however can be a bit laggy when you kill one of the pink puffs and that can be "oof".
4. Ganon's Castle (The last dungeon of the game) - For me, there are so many rooms and puzzles that are fun and really get you to utilize every item you've gotten in the game so far. There are unique enemies and I'm thankful it's a long dungeon, I actually wished it was longer, =(. Also, facing Agahnim again is always fun, even more so when there's 3 of them, =D.
5. The Royal Castle (Right after you get the Master Sword) - It's an average experience, not hard but not exactly too much fun, but Agahnim is my favorite boss in the game, thus the lower ranking.
6. Turtle Rock (The 7th dungeon in Dark World) - There are only a few rooms that aren't all that awesome, but I love the transportations in most of the rooms with the red block and you have to have good timing and wherewithall to have a good time.
7. Palace of Darkness (1st dungeon in Dark World) - There's just something about it for me that makes it interesting. You have to figure out which blocks to push down so you can progress through the place and even if you mess up, you can always just use the mirror. Plus the boss is pretty cool too, chip away at its face and then just swing at it.
8. Tower of Hera (3rd dungeon in Light World) - This is where the dungeons become sort of a pain. Even though it's fast, the tiles aren't all that much fun, especially in really close quarters. Plus, the boss is a major troll (I call him Trolldorm).
9. Blind's Hideout (4th dungeon in Dark World) - It's cool if you know where to go and know exactly what to do, it's one of the faster dungeons in DW, but it can still be a bit of a pain to because of the transmorphers, lol. Blind is a pretty tough boss too, thus the ranking.
10. The Swamp Palace (2nd dungeon in Dark World) - It's not all that much fun to navigate because you have to keep going back and forth and dodging the fire worms, but at least the boss is easy.
11. Misery Mire (6th dungeon in Dark World) - It's brutal to navigate (even if you know where you're going) and the boss can be a real pain as well.
12. The Lost Woods (3rd dungeon in Dark World) - Holy crap this level is thee most unfun to navigate and it's by far the most annoying. You have to keep dodging the wallmasters (hands that come down and put you at the beginning if you get caught), the mummies and the different puzzles you have to do. The boss can be a pain too (having a bee in a jar makes a bit easier).

I don't count the very beginning, but that's just me.

(Edit) The hardest boss in the game (for me) is Moldorm, the worm boss in the Tower of Hera. He's not deadly or anything, but having to start the fight over multiple times can be very rage inducing.
