  Hey man, Chinook pilot here. This video is awesome! Very well done. The Chinook truly is an absolutely incredible aircraft, and we're a very small and tight-knit community. Super cool to see such a well done video appreciating this legendary aircraft.

  Awesome video!  Thank you!!! I am a retired Chinook Flight Engineer. I absolutely love this aircraft and owe my life to its ability to take a hit and keep on flying. My unit would have lost many of our aircrews in Afghanistan had it not been for this tough, rugged beauty.

  I always wondered how they flew sideways, dropping off pallets on the flight deck of our destroyer. Us lowly squids scampering out to drag the pallets into the hangar, chinook thundering overhead. Those were cool unreps.

  Germany is expecting 60 of them in the coming years to replace its CH-53Gs. There is timelessness, and then there is Chinook-level timelessness.

  I was a CH 47D Chinook mechanic (67U) 1984 - 1988 ,back when the D model came out. I was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. The mission was a lot of high altitude rescue missions. I also served in Camp Humphreys, S. Korea. <br><br>I didn&apos;t realize that it would last this long. All the Vietnam Era helicopters were being phased out. Like the Huey and Cobra and Kiwoa. <br><br>Lots of stories about the Chinook.

  Third generation Army. Gpa was in guns a go go 53rd aviation det in Vietnam. Paved the way for the 160th. Man he loved it so much he cried when I was able to send some videos of myself being transported in one for the first time. I&apos;m actually here because two just flew over and I knew that sound while they were still a few miles out.

  Back in 2003 my engineer company flew in chinooks from Ft Lewis to Yakima Training Center. The pilots either hadnt gotten stick time in a while or were looking to impress us and they gave us a wild ride. We napped the earth in formation at low altitude, high speed around Crystal Mtn Ski Area, then when we got to the Columbia River Gorge, the pilots dove the aircraft nose down towards the Columbia River and then hovered above the river, dipping the ramp into the water. That shit was some of the most fun I&apos;ve ever had.

  Excellent production. &nbsp;For those who may not know, &nbsp;the Royal Air Force has a Chinook Aerobatics Team. The flight maneuvers they are able to perform are nothing less than amazing and a testament to how well the Chinook was designed and constructed. There&apos;s plenty of UK airshow videos here that show the RAF Chinooks doing their thing.

  Love seeing these fly over me &nbsp;in groups whilst driving in the UK. Absolutely awesome pieces of kit and you can always hear them coming a couple of minutes before laying eyes on them, the sound is unmistakable.

  first time ive ever seen chinooks. Me and my dad were chatting in the back of the yard when he said &quot;what&apos;s that&quot; i didn&apos;t notice it at first, the whole yard was vibrating and shaking, i shouted &quot;earthquake&quot;, then we heard a slapping sound, he said &quot;its not an earthquake, sounds like a helicopter&quot;, i guess we were both thinking what the hell kind of helicopter are those to be shaking the place so much, we ran down to the beach and saw 3 helis about half a mile out approaching, 2 chinooks and a Blackhawk, and then passed us, still the most badass thing ive ever seen, like I’ve seen fighter jets but those helis are something else
