  US fascination with their equipment on a war of attrition missed a critical point...at no time the US inflicted on the North Vietnamese annually through combat attrition &nbsp;greater than North Vietnam&apos;s annual &nbsp;pool of draft age male. That meant as long as the Soviets and Chinese supplied the hardware which of course they did....the North Vietnamese could go on fighting forever. Further since North Vietnam kept their draftees permanently in the field the North Vietnamese armed forces with annual intake of 120k to 200k actually grew throughout the war while US forces size were limited by their one year rotation

  This was a terrific and eye opening account of the air war and the implications of attempting victory from the air. &nbsp;That said, a lot of innovations came out of it that are highly valuable even today. &nbsp;Blessings to the fallen and missing in action.

  The love of controlling and ruling others...the love of having it your way and denying others freedom to be and live as they wish....this was a major cause in that, and every other, war.

  Ultimate respect for the vietnamese for their resistance. Not a lot of countries in this world with heart like that.
