  Moving to France was the best decision I&apos;ve ever made. It hasn&apos;t always been easy but I&apos;m about to start my 45th year in this wonderful country &nbsp;and I&apos;ve never been happier. Vive la France!

  Growing up in the Bronx in the 50s was similar to your experience now. We had a butcher, baker, fruit stand. Our pharmacy was our first stop for medical advice. Our family doctor made house calls with his little black bag. I walked to school &nbsp;we used the bus and train. I didn’t get a drivers license until I was 19. Did not get a car till I was 26.

  As a French person, I like to see how pragmatic this video is. Nothing&apos;s black or white, only fair criticism and objective experience. Overall, life in France seems to be very much not perfect, but still oriented towards making real people&apos;s lives easier

  A lot of US immigrants forget to mention one big change because they don&apos;t even realize it: less noise. Just overall less noise everywhere and especially cars. High volume of noise causes stress and so we reduce it and regulate it in France.

  I was just in Paris for 12 days last Spring. I ate croissants, croque messieur, macrons, steak/frites, charcuterie, Nutella/banana crepes, &amp; drank plenty of red wine. I lost 3 pounds!! Everything is better there &amp; better FOR you!! ❤

  I always feel better when I eat in Europe. It&apos;s the only place I can eat almost anything and not get an upset digestive system.

  I&apos;m currently in Paris for the first time. It&apos;s day 3 of 30. Since I&apos;ve never been before I figured I had a list of things to see and do that would fill two weeks easily. So I&apos;ve rented an apartment for a month so I can spread out my sightseeing and go at a relaxed pace - I intend to take picnics to the park regularly and sit on those green chairs. &nbsp;My apartment has an tiny but functional kitchen. Its a huge adjustment to buy single fruits and veggies and not multiples in bags. Today in a market I witnessed a guy buying a single stalk of celery and a single carrot, among other things. I suspect that very little food is wasted here. People buy in small amounts and shop regularly. There is no room in a tiny fridge for things to get lost in the back and go bad. &nbsp;I have a supermarket down the block for the pantry essentials but each day after I&apos;ve completed that day&apos;s museum, gallery or neighbourhood walk I start looking for the little markets, bakeries etc to pick up what I need for that day. &nbsp;Today I had a long chat with the wine store owner in the shop next to my building. I also found a new market with a great selection of pate and cheese, so that&apos;s on tonight&apos;s menu. This apartment building has recycling for everything except compost, so that&apos;s a downgrade from my condo at home. Because you are comparing the US with France the recycling made the list for this video. If you were comparing almost any other first world country with France there would be no difference. It&apos;s just the US that is way behind on environmental issues. &nbsp;I&apos;m Canadian and we&apos;ve been recycling for decades and plastic grocery bags are banned. We all bring our own reusable bags to the store. I just Googled and less than 1/4 of US states have banned plastic bags.... When planning this trip I assumed that eating differently and walking a massive amount every day was going to be beneficial to my weight, so the morning I left home I made sure to weigh myself to see what happens in the month I&apos;m in Paris. &nbsp;It&apos;s day three and I&apos;ve gone one notch smaller on my belt, so something good is happening already.

  I just got back from visiting Paris. The Parisians were the best part of the trip. They were so kind and helpful (I don’t speak French). Of course the city was stunning, almost unbelievable that people get to live there. I need to go back now that I know what I want to do there😅.
