  I enjoy your videos, especially the simple parts that frustrate us as technicians…such as trying several times to put the screws in that hold the electrical compartment cover of the condensing unit. I go through those types of fumbles each day, and always work to keep it in perspective. Thanks again for the steps that we all go through when diagnosing a problem.

  cool to see my two favorite HVAC Youtubers @justintime and @hvac guy  Curtis both on this post. You two rock. And yes, the heat will do that to you. I can attest to that. only those of us who have  done that kind of work in those extreme conditions can appreciate what you guys do as much as someone like I can.  You two rock!

  YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT!! YOU DA MAN!!! I AM AN OLD RSES YEARS AND YEARS AGO...EARLY '7O'S. MOST OF WHAT TOOLS YOU USE, I NEVER EVEN HEARD OF..YUP, I AM THAT OLD!!!🙂12 AND 22. USED TO PURGE LINE SETS WITH 12! IT WAS CHEPER THAN 22. BUBBLE SOAP WAS LEAK DETECTION. OHHHH, THE STORIES I COULD TELL. MOST COMPLICATED LV WIRING WAS USUALLY A WESTINGHOUSE HI RELI. I HATED HEAT PUMPS BC I HAD TO WEIGH IN THE CHARGE. I WAS MOSTLY AN INSTALL TECH, BUILT 200 AMP SERVICES, INSTALLED VENTAMATICS..ALL IN ONE DAY AFTER THE SHEET METAL GUYS WERE DONE. I ALSO HATED ATTIC JOBS..I WOUND UP ASA SHIFT ELECTRICIAN AND FINALLY MAD MASTER ELECTRICIAN, THE ELECT SUPV THE LAST 12 YEARS TILL STRESS FROM BABYSITTING GROWN MEN GAVE ME MY 1ST HEART ATTACK. 3 MORE AFTER RETIREMENT, LOL. ON HOSPICE CARE NOW. BUT YOUR VLOGS MAKE WANNA DO IT AGAIN, LOL!! NO IDEAS WHAT REFRIGERANTS, PRESSURES, SPECIAL TOOLS I'D HAFTA RE-LEARN HOW TO USE! DE MINIMIS...DAMN! RED YELLOW WHITE AND GREEN...KISS!!!! (keep it simple, stupid) A T-87-F HNWL TSTAT WITH A Q539 SUB BASE, AND DONE.:face-blue-smiling:

  Excited to watch this one later. I had a zoning system a few weeks ago that completely humbled me 😂 When I went back and edited the video afterward, I was sitting there thinking “how did I not know better?”<br><br>I guess sleep deprivation, attic heat, and chasing multiple issues at once starts doing weird things to the brain sometimes 😅

  Curtis, I dont have much time during the week to watch, but I look forward to watching several of your videos every weekend. &nbsp;I always learn something, including patience. &nbsp;Having my own service business, I know sometimes it is more difficult to identify a cause of a issue, but you think it out, try and test possible fixes, and you stay with it until its done. &nbsp;Your system has helped me and I wish I had considered AC as a career, a long time ago. &nbsp; Thank you for the great videos.

  Most likely the transformer windings were taking the majority of the short circuit protecting the fuse from tripping 1st. It’s rare, you should consider once you rule out the low voltage wire is intact, one of the 1st checks is resistance at the contactor. If you disconnect the yellow, and nothing is tripping Bingo 🎯

  Little tip whenever it&apos;s a blown transformer, or even a fuse, measure resistance between the 24v circuit of the system. Between y and c should be about 10-20 ohms because of the contactor being in line. If u have 0-1 you know u have a short l, start disconnecting things until you read your 10-20 or removed the contactor and go OL

  Reminds me of a time where I diagnosed an air conditioner at work... I simply didn&apos;t have time to deal with it and someone else already called the service company, so I let it be. &nbsp;When the service guy got there, I explicitly told him that one of the wires to the thermostat was dead shorted to ground and that explained the smoked transformer. &nbsp;I think he had a circuit breaker device with him and either didn&apos;t use it right or who knows what, but the transformer literally blew up, and smoke went everywhere. &nbsp;So, he went to his truck and got another transformer and proceeded to blow that one up, too. &nbsp;I&apos;m like, &quot;What do you not understand about a thermostat wire shorted to ground?&quot; as nicely as I could. &nbsp;So, then he later told me that the simple fix was to get a wireless thermostat. &nbsp;And I sent him on his way because... well, after that, why not? &nbsp;Then I thought about it a bit... there&apos;s more than one conductor in that wire, not all of which were used, so I substituted another wire and fixed it. &nbsp;That wire is labeled &quot;Dead short&quot; on both ends.<br><br>I am not certified in really anything. &nbsp;But I know what a dead short does. &nbsp;I am under-paid.
