Anthony Bourdain always had a soft spot for Mexico. He often said that during all of his years working in New York restaurants, it didn't matter what type of food you were ordering, Italian, German, Greek or even Chinese, all the best cooks and chefs were Mexican. It was that same show where he followed a great, Mexican chef he worked with to his hometown in Mexico to see where and how he learned his cooking skills. Mostly, it's a culinary culture that wastes nothing, so you have to be creative when cooking up things that people in other countries usually don't eat. Also, their grandmothers are absolute gold mines of enduring, world class recipes.

The taqueria he visited, i used to work in the hotel across the street. That taqueria is still there and thriving.

God bless you Anthony Bourdain! After watching this episode I decided to visit Fonda Margarita the next time I visited Mexico City and sweet Lord, it was worth the trip. When I arrived I asked a lovely elderly couple what they would recommend on the menu and the gentleman told me "You can literally pick anything on the menu and it's going to be amazing." The good sir wasn't lying and that meal still stands out as one of the best I've ever had even to this day... this place is simply mind blowing!

this man did more to break down racial division than anyone in congress or politics today! Like such a beautiful soul who showed the world so many hidden gems and made us hungry to try and experience new things.

Ive worked with a few Mexican ladies working at hotels. Their love language was food and I have yet to have better food.
