In real life, they would never be able to find evidence that Kira actually exists because the Death Note doesn't leave any evidence and no jury would convict a case for magic. The deaths are certainly too coincidental to not be connected but they weren't approached by anyone or delivered anything to cause their deaths. They would definitely suspect foul play but they would never be able to prove anything.

What database would have Misa Amane's DNA on record? She's not a convict. There's no way they'd be able to use that to find her. Also I kinda doubt the FBI would even take up the case
