Met Alan Smith and David Rocastle (RIP) at Lakeside as a 10 year old kid... both concerned where my parents where. Legends.

I’ve been a Gooner for over 40 years and I’ve been saying for a long time, Alan Smith is the most unsung striker in English football, let alone Arsenal. I’ll always remember his goals - especially the half volley vs Norwich at Highbury back in 89. He’s an Arsenal legend, in my humble opinion.

It all makes sense now. <br>I was young Arsenal fan who thought he was <i>alright</i> as a player. Didnt get the press or news, wasnt a regular England player. We didn't get to see the number of games we get to see nowadays. So to me, obviously he was no way as exciting as Wright in the early 90s..... But - As he got older as a player at Arsenal, even coming on as a sub, you could see his experience, calmness and effectiveness when playing. I was really starting to appreciate him as a REALLY REALLY important player for us.... And then, he kinda just disappeared 🤷🏿♂️ <br>2X League Winner & Cup 1994 Winners Cup Legend tho 🙌🏿

Never understood the Arsenal fans that got upset with Smudger for his balanced view. I'm a lifelong Gooner and I always valued his opinion because of that. He is one of our legends and always will be.

One of the most underrated Englishs strikers. Always will be an Arsenal legend in my eyes, the first goal against Liverpool at Anfield in 1989, to his winner in the Cup Winners Cup in 1994 against Parma. Helped us to two league titles. Legend.
