As a poor kid growing up in southern USA biscuits and gravy was our main breakfast 4-5 days a week. Sometimes the gravy was made with just the sausage fat and cream..... but the best was when there was money to actually have it with sausage meat! the other few days it was just biscuits with butter and some jam/jelly or apple butter (you will have to look that up). My grandmother made the best biscuits! Miss her but think of her whenever I get a really good biscuit! LUV from Texas! bonus she made the best southern cast iron fried chicken...... sorry that the rest of the world has not had her fried chicken!
