  Surprised you don't have the pioneer of using the whole fretboard, the one and only John Entwistle!  "The Real Me" is a clinic on using the whole fretboard up and down constantly throughout the song. His lines on other lesser-known tunes like "Dreaming From The Waist" or "How Many Friends" are also stellar.  Many good examples from Chris Squire too.

  Everyone is having fun at the party, then Jaco comes and kicks the door down... 😂 I definitely love playing higher up on the board, especially during quieter parts of songs while kicking on a bit of chorus and reverb

  It occurs to me that when your sound man says &quot;Play a little for me&quot; to check balances, etc., these would be good riffs to have under your fingers to expose the entire pitch range of your bass. &nbsp;Also, it impresses the crowd waiting.

The concept of breaking the fretboard down to three sections of a five fret span apiece, then practicing the Circle of 5ths (or 4ths!) is genius! Bravo, mates!

  Scott you taught me not just the bass but the English language. Thank you for everything and for the love of God hit the gym! <br>As people age it&apos;s important to maintain your muscularity. You can do that with just two training sessions per week of about 45 minutes each.

  An old and very quirky bassline that uses the whole fretboard (at least on a 20 fret bass) is Harold the Barrel from Genesis&apos; Nursery Cryme album. Goes from F on 1st fret of the E string to Eb on fret 20 of the G string. Great fun to play.
