This was truly a very sad story. Her life was filled with sadness losing her father and brothers . Then to be brutally murder on her way to see her only surviving brother 😢.<br>I'm so glad the other lorry drivers came forward and say what a wonderful woman she was quashing his despicable lies .<br>So happy to the pup had a wonderful happy life ☺️.<br>Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏🇨🇦

Such a sad story - Dagmar did not deserve to die like that. I used to live at the top of Wrotham Hill and it looks very different from the 1940s photos. Thank you for this story 💕💕💕

The autopsy also showed Dagmar suffered from fibroids, leading to heavy bleeding. The poor lady was too embarrassed to see her doctor. Which made the idea that she offered her services ridiculous.

Another wonderful job of storytelling. I appreciate how much effort you put into gathering the newspaper illustrations. But what stands out most is the background you gathered on everyone affected. We see the real costs paid. Thanks especially for filling us in on the pup.

I was totaly absorbed by this story as I am familiar with the area. Labour- in- Vain Road appears to have had its exit on to Wrotham Hill blocked off, presumably in redevelopment of the Hill. I can't imagine what it was like living in a garden shed in winter. R.I.P. dear lady

Absolutely amazing as always. Love these old cases, and the justice the offenders received usually seems very fitting to the crime. Totally unlike today. Poor Dagmar, what a lovely lady she comes across as, living her simple life and also working as well, and this ghastly person she encounters as part of her day. Thankfully the little dog was found unharmed. Dagmar's dear mum had a very difficult life, losing so many of her dear family. RIP Dagmar.
