Ray really did leave at the perfect time and for the perfect reasons. The channel was at its peak and his departure was heartbreaking but it was so nice to see his thrive in the field he chose.

I still feel for Geoff Ramsey. I think he was the only OG to get out of Rooster Teeth without baggage and the shuttering of RS really did break him.

Will forever be my favorite internet thing or entity. I watched them for about 12 years and were a huge part of my teenage years. Going through all the ups and downs of the company makes me appreciate them. They tried, I’m gonna miss Rooster Teeth so much.

I remember during one of the podcast, ray mentioned how it was strange that Ryan always stayed a couple days extra during conventions.

27:27 For more context, Ray also left because he was not being well compensated, and was also being screwed over whenever he tried to have Rooster Teeth branch out into livestreaming. I’m not gonna go into further detail here (and might have been a little bit off), but he discussed it in a Hot Ones-esk live stream he did, which is up on VOD form on his channel

Roosterteeth stretched themselves too thin and didn't properly back the foundation of what made them who they were which was a bunch of friends gaming and taking the piss out of each other. Podcasts weren't even what first brought me to Roosterteeth....it was always the gaming, the let's plays the interaction regardless of the game between Gavin Ray and Michael and Gavin's ability to make even the most mundane games look funny. I was never a big minecraft guy but the tower of pimps created by Gavin gave it purpose which allowed the series to last far longer than it had any right to last. This was the imprint that Gavin put on the stuff he worked on. It's not a stretch to say that without Gavin i woulnd't be nearly as big a fan as I was. Ive had friends that were the center of attention, not willingly but simply by natural cause and effect. These types of people are born entertainers and Gavin is exactly one of those special people.

I still go and watch the OG videos to this day, seeing the whole crew just enjoy video games, laughs, and fun activities, and compete is still fun to this day. One of my fav series is the Rainbow Six Vegas videos and Olympics. Jermey and Matt were the last guys to join who added great chemistry. Everyone after that was just obnoxious, boring people who tried so hard to be funny or relevant.
Rooster Teeth OG for life
