  Thank you for having the courage to preach to women. Whether homely or beautiful, we need pastors who care enough to risk their reputation to warn us of the danger our souls are in.

  So very wise. I hope to do a teaching on this in our women's study sometime in the near future. Women need to be encouraged to take care of their inner self more than their outward appearance. We must be careful not to put a lot of stock in our beauty, it's fleeting, but our soul will be eternal. Those who are beautiful and those who are homely should not latch onto these things, but use their lives for God's glory

  I really appreciate this being talked about. It’s enlightening; this  perspective is hard to hold onto in this culture, where a certain usage of beauty (sensual ) seems to be the only thing of value if you’re a female. Even Christian men struggle with not wanting that, just look at the statistics on pornography in the church. Women who sell themselves in this way seem to win at every turn. It’s hard for Christian women to hold onto God’s view of what beauty is for. And I love that you said even homely looks are a gift and to be used rightly. Whatever we have has been gifted by God. This culture really believes that the only value you have is wrapped up in how appealing you are. Thank you for giving this reminder of God’s kindness and goodness, and that whatever gifts we have should be used to point to Him.

  It has been a prayer of mine for a while. That the Lord would give me a woman who loves the Lord, his people, and a heart for the lost. Looks are down the list.

  This is so important, especially for young women. Beauty comes from God and misusing His gift has dramatic consequences
