1989 CRX-Si. Sold it in 2002 with 320,000 miles on it when I bought my WRX. I miss that little car. Still have the WRX.

Hi from Australia. While you have it apart make sure you check the pcv system as it may be drawing in oil and replace the valve guide seals. Great video 👍

There is a pretty convenient trick to separating the lower ball joints on these cars. BEFORE separating the damper from the lower arm, simply jack the suspension up until you can fit the handle of a 3/8 ratchet on its side (in USA we commonly use Craftsman ratchet with a wide flat handle) into the gap between the knuckle and lower arm. When you let the suspension back down, everything will bind, and the coilover spring should force the balljoint to pop out of the lower arm. If it doesn't separate on it's own, you simply push/shove the hub downward and it WILL break loose. We referred to this as the "Ratchet Trick" back in the long-long-ago days of Honda-Tech.

Valve stem oil seals are old and hard. Replace them and see if the oil burning stops.
