  To answer why Big E didn&apos;t tell his sons the truth of the Warp and Chaos: <br>It was very intentional on his part, but the true reason as to why is what&apos;s up for debate. On one hand, the Emperor despised religion, believing it to be both the cause of most of humanity&apos;s past infighting and an expressway into the hands of Chaos. So from this perspective, his omissions could be seen as a parent protecting their children from the evils of the world.<br>Conversely, it is stated quite often that the Emperor could see the future (or futures, depending on who you ask) and foresaw the Heresy, or something like it, as inevitable. With this explanation, you could view the (very lopsided) treatment of his sons as a way to &quot;stack the deck in his favor.&quot; This way, the instigators of the Heresy would likely be the least equipped and skilled of the bunch.<br><br>Now, the real answer is that Black Library authors all have their own perspectives on the Emperor and all write him very differently. He might be the most inconsistently written character in all of fiction. The most frustrating part is that I&apos;m pretty sure GW considers this a feature, not a bug.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2uiSNmncSo&amp;t=3613">1:00:13</a> To give you an idea of slippery the slope is to fall into the clutches of the Prince of Pleasure (this is close to a canon event too, unless things got changed when I haven&apos;t been looking).<br><br>Imagine you were known as one of the best musicians to have ever lived and one day while travelling, you hear a really beautiful song one day and you really want to hear it again, but no one knows the name of the song. So you do the next best thing, try and replicate it, play it by ear, but nothing NOTHING fits right, there&apos;s always a twinge that makes it sound off even your audience <i>loves</i> the song. So you go further.<br><br>You experiment with more instruments, different sounds, different materials, you get an orchestra, a choir, and you keep. On. Experimenting because nothing, NOTHING AT ALL, sounds right, sounds perfect, even though the music you&apos;re making has become so beautiful, yet discordant that it&apos;s actually starting to drive your fellow musicians into obsessing over getting their part in the orchestra perfect or just plain driving them mad, you&apos;ve already gone through 5 piccolo players because they either scream as their minds finally snap under the pressure, asphyxiate during practice or live performance, or get mauled by their enraged compatriots for missing a beat/note/cue and forcing everyone to start all over again. Then one day, it happens, someone FINALLY hits THE PERFECT NOTE, a Cellist who bled on his instrument after he slid his fingers up and down the neck that his skin tore open, lubricating his strings with his own blood, so everyone follows, and before long the song is finally being played <i>PERFECTLY</i> before an awed and terrified audience as orchestra puts mind, body, and soul into their craft. However, that&apos;s not enough is it? It can still be better, so much more better, you can write your own wonderful music inspired by this divine melody. All you need to do is simple. Just. Go. Just. A. Little. Bit. Further.<br><br>Eventually, your orchestra in the throes of ecstasy ponder on something, the audience has yet to be able to fully immerse themselves in the glorious song you have brought to everyone. Never mind the news you hear about the cults of personality that have formed around you and your music, the psychotic episodes that some musicians who try to imitate your sound experience...all of that pales before the sad realization that no one has ever truly experienced your music, just the sound. So why not? Why not give the wonderful audience the FULL experience of the ecstasy you all experience when playing, and what do you know, the next performance is inside a theatre well known for its wonderful acoustics...<br><br>....and I&apos;ll leave it there.<br><br>But yeah, that&apos;s basically how it goes for the followers of She-Who-Thirsts, whether it be warriors, musicians, artists, chefs, hedonists...it doesn&apos;t matter, the moment you slip, it&apos;s over.

He is over 1500 years old and has commanded Blood Angels for around 1100 years. His amongst most morally upright space marines and incredibly noble. However he is starting to have massive survivors guild and ptsd over such a long life in 40k galaxy, hell space marines aren’t supposed to age and he is actually looking aged! Only reason he hasn’t offed himself is because he believes he still has a prophecy to fulfill and because he is so duty bound. And he’s still kicking ass. (Plus Guilliman made him regent of part of the imperium.)
