  I think what makes Sopranos special is how it flips the “heroes Journey” on its head. We followed Tony for years and by default we were always rooting for him when the reality of the situation is simple: Tony is irredeemable and only got worse as the show went along. He didn’t emerge triumphantly and having grown as a human being through perseverance; he was not remotely capable of such a thing because he really is a monster. I realize it’s a meme but what I’m about to say is unironically true: Tony never had the makings of a varsity athlete.

  I love how after years of rewatching , the genius of David Chase shines even more brightly. By the end, no character is left unscathed who was in Tony’s orbit. There is no other tv show with this depth

  Age old lesson, don&apos;t loan money to family. It&apos;s no more complicated than that. Once the loan was there Tony didn&apos;t want to pay it back and felt it was unfair. I think the show just does a great job of acting it out for an episode.

  I think why all these characters ache us is because they were all so close to having meaningful grounded relationships but what they lacked in self reflection, introspection &amp; character kept them from forming meaningful ties to those around them. <br>Just when they were almooost juuuust abooout to enter into these areas their nature took over and &quot;pulled them back in.&apos;<br>The true tragedy
