  So first thought is…… nope, I’m not doing that myself. Going to pay a professional. Second thought, well the contractor I just hired did a terrible job on my deck! He’s the professional. I’m just too picky. May have to just take a year and build 10 blocks a week. lol

  Outstanding video for anyone laying concrete block!  l learned so much from this instructor.  Very detailed and thorough.  I wish he instructed on everything I am viewing on DIY.  I would recommend this that anyone wanting to learn, watch this video first.

  I want to replace wood caps on my concrete blocks with concrete caps. Right now it is capped with 1x8 wood/painted applied with construction adhesive. Will I have to remove the adhesive before mortaring in the new concrete caps? ps Dandy video, very helpful!

  In our place, we fill in the hole of the block fully with mixed concrete ( cement, sand, gravel, water ) before laying the next line of hollow blocks on top of it. I think doing such is stronger than leaving the holes of the block empty.
