  I used to work for a company who manufactured selenium rectifiers, amongst other things.<br>When a selenium rectifier goes &apos;pop&apos;, the smell is something you will never forget!

  I used to experiment in my early days on an old television that had selenium rectifiers, and they have such a distinctive odour when they’re warm that it’s something I simply can’t forget. So your program today is a great interest because I know it’s not just a simple one for one replacement with a silicon rectifier there are other considerations. Thank you for your most informative channel David.

  Electrican here: The earth wire always should be longer than hot and neutral. So in case of a rip-off the ground wire disconnects last; ideally even rips off when the other wires already had left the casing.

  Could be my imagination and I haven’t gone back and looked at the first video but the loco seems to run much smoother and better torque now. Cool controller 👍

  Hiya &nbsp;- I have a Duette - It&apos;s a really good controller. Just to let you know - Every one get this wrong - They see a Loco &amp; call it a &quot;Train&quot;!!! A Loco is not a Train, It&apos;s just a Loco on its own!!! A Loco only becomes a train when you add Rolling Stock - i.e. Carriages and or Wagons!!! I knew you would get the &apos;Model Railway Bug&quot;!!! Again I didn&apos;t really understand about the &quot;Selenium Rectifiers&quot; but it was fun to watch &amp; enjoyed watching your Video - Thank you for sharing 😉🚂🚂🚂
