  Sirius could pick up Peter's scent while transformed into a Dog. That would be evidence only Serius could pick up. Even beyond Dumbledore.

  i love the idea that peter is stood at the door trying to convince James to step outside while voldemort is crouched behind a bush giggling to himself… that’s how it should be

  It’s because of Harry. If something happened to Lily and James, it would have trapped Harry alone as a baby in the house. As a mom, I can assure you that many parents are concerned about leaving their children alone and defenseless. Bill and Fleur didn’t have children so no similar fear/concern.

  Brett i absolutely love the idea of wormtail going with voldemort to kill the potters. a scene of james face changing and the realization of what’s going on when he realizes he’s been betrayed would be such an iconic moment if it was from the original.

  I think since Sirius in his animagus form is a dog, maybe he entered the house in that form and could smell peter?

  I have a simple theory as to why James and Lily didn&apos;t choose to be the secret keepers. They wanted visitors, the wanted someone to guide their friends to the house. It&apos;s a reckless decision, but not entirely out of character.
