If we soften Gods word, if we do not tell people the harshness of the bad news they will never understand why the gospel IS the good news! If a person doesn’t know how bad their punishment will be, why would they understand the love He showed by saving us? And if we don’t understand that we DESERVE that terrible punishment, we can never be truly repentant
