  Nina Simone felt the pain of segregation and did not turn her back. &nbsp;She took it on. &nbsp;She held the mirror up to the ugliness of it, the terrible pain. &nbsp;She turned it to gold like an alchemist through her extraordinary art. &nbsp;I am 80 and white. &nbsp;I have listened to her for 60 years. &nbsp;I wish she could have had more peace and love.

  The High Priestess of Soul suffered from bipolar disorder. She worked hard for the CRM, using her celebrity to shine light on justice and equality. After Dr. King died, like millions, she mourned. However, for Ms. Simone, it broke her heart and spirit. She moved to Europe shortly thereafter. She wanted no parts of the states. 🖤👑🎶
