It could be that Bering would not do the mods as they would not have been suitable for this yacht

Just a thought on the Bering that sunk. It's possible that the work was done by another shipyard because Bering refused to do the work. Maybe they didn't feel the modifications were seaworthy or because of workload. If the boat is back in the water this quickly its's possible the owners pressured the timeline.

Regarding the Bering Yacth - Putting a tender garage in could be significant - if it's a big open door that isn't necessarily watertight. It's possible that Bering didn't have the capacity to do the work.<br>I know that you should obviously keep out of the way of any larger vessel and try to avoid a collsion but the ferry has far more speed, power and manouverabilty to avoid a collision than the small catarmaran (if it was undersail potentially as well) it could have been virtually impossible to get out of the way of the ferry if it came round a headland at 30kts...
