There’s something dystopian but also comforting about creators popping their face on-screen for a bit to prove they aren’t AI. Like I hate the circumstances that have led to it but I like seeing the person I’m listening to

i feel like i've gotten deep enough into Buddhism and have been knocked around by life enough that Mahakala veneration seems like a very normal and healthy praxis. great material as always, my friend, you are burning brightly

As a Buddhist I’d like to thank you for uploading videos like this, many people seem to philosophise Buddhism or not talk about deities like Mahakala, you clearly put so much effort and research into every video you do and it shows 🙏🏻

A moment in my life came around when I realized these deities who seem scary or dangerous are actually my greatest spiritual friends. The bloody depictions are nothing but a reminder that ego is a temporary construct, a construct so powerful that it drives the wheel of Samsara. The multitude of wrathful deities are the embodiment of the radical love that diminishes ignorance, greed, and hatred into the nothingness they came from. Please keep making content like this, as it is more important than ever that these teachings can reach wider audiences.

I just adore Tibetan Buddhist art. It is so richly detailed, and every single aspect has some symbolic meaning related to Buddhist theology and interacts with the other details, making a dynamic whole. And it just looks straightforwardly beautiful and cool.

There is a great deal of beauty in a deity so intentionally terrifying.

There is more than what meets the eye…

Another banger Pierrot

Whenever you search "Buddhist Music" a Tibetan chant with this painting always shows up. I'm so glad to get such a well-researched video explaining this.

I’ve recently “converted” into Buddhism, specifically Mahayana Buddhism. These types of videos always inspire me to go deeper into understanding Buddhism as they’re so many different teachings and traditions within the religion. As always what an amazing video!

May All Beings resonate with the teachings and may they be in peace.

greatt stuff!!! many dharmapalas that became important in tibetan buddhism such as mahakala, bhairava, vajrayogini, chakrasamvara etc..., emerged in an environment where buddhists and Shaiva tantrikas were interacting closely, bihar, nepala, kashmir....early Shaiva tantras already featured wrathful deities, cremation-ground symbolism, skull rituals, and antinomian practices associated with groups like the kapalikas. buddhist tantrikas adapted many of these elements, reinterpreting them within a Buddhist framework.

shiva is not one of the three hindu dieties of creation, preservation and destruction, he is beyond these 'isvaras" his five faces eminated these five ishvaras, of brahma, vishnu, rudra, mahadeva and sadashiva
