I am an 1860 Munich fan, originally from Clacton in Essex. In the summer at the beginning of the 2001/02 season I went to the game against Newcastle, only 11 at the time, with a few German lads from my neighbourhood. After the game, travelling home in the tube, my mates convinced me, shy at the time, to talk to the away supporters, as I could speak English fluently. Long story short, your fans were absolute gentlemen. One fan in particular took pity on me, as I was sporting a Man Utd at the time and gave me his brand new Newcastle sweatshirt. To this day that sweatshirt is in my proud collection of footy memorobilia. I wore it throughout my youth (once I was tall enough for it to fit me), and it is probably the fondest piece of clothing (I came from a working class family with a single mum) I had at the time. Until today I am eternally grateful to the Geordie who gave me his sweater at the game in Munich. Anyway I am 30 now and still living in Munich. If any Newcastle supporter remembers going to the game and might know the legend who made an 11 year old kid's day in 2001 I would be very grateful to contact that person and return the favour. Furthermore, as luck has it I now live only a few minutes walk away from the Olympic Stadium. If any Geordie is flying out to Munich anytime in the near future, comment underneath this video and you will get a nice Bavarian beer as a thank you for your great support 19 years ago.

This was the starts of 3 seasons playing brilliant football. That season we’d got a few back from injury in shearer and dyer and Bellamy was fast as well, we were organised and dominated most games. There were a few leads that slipped away but although Greta attacking wise, we weren’t so good at defending always let the first goal in or worse, made it tough for the team. All in all though a brilliant season big wins consistent, Alan’s 100th goal for Newcastle (many more) 200th premier league goal, Craig getting young player of year. Last 8-10 games we suffered a few heavy defeats bcos we lost pace with Craig, but Alan upped his game and we went on to qualify. The first dvd I bought as well. We were mostly all young people watching this. I was a young teen. But this really gave me confidence to say I was a toon fan. Season after we finished 3rd and season after 5th bcos of our defence, but yeah so many special displays. Solano n speed excelled as well.

What’s great is although football isn’t the same anymore it’s evolved into money motivates sulky and over acting, or diving, we got into Europa league a few times since sir Bobby. Glen roder rip and Alan p where we’re had cisse ba and cabaye. We just didn’t f have the backing. Now we do am just look at the amazing difference. Having proper owners make all the difference.
