Within 8 hours over 10,000 people have watched your video. If only 1% of them were helped....that makes 100 people that were helped. And my decluttering hasn't been a single aha moment, it's been hundreds of small turning points. You are wonderful for me!!!

For Christmas this year, my dad asked me what I wanted and my family friend asked me what I wanted. I'm super excited because with my dad I'm going to have a day at a museum, and with my family friend I'm going to get to show her around the city I live in, and go for tea with her! I'm super excited 😊

Cas, I wish you weren't so hard on yourself. I'm thrilled at how helpful Peter Walsh was for you, but you are just as helpful to others. Your discovery of personalized organization approaches is revolutionary (as opposed to the Marie Kondo one-size-fits-all). And especially your ability to help people with neurodiversity. I recommend you to people all the time.

“Its never about the stuff” PREACH! Indeed “you shall not COVET”, brilliant! “If the price is the best thing, DO NOT BUY IT!” Just amazingly on point. “Honor and respect the limits of the space you have.” Nailed it, Peter!

I've been a Christian my whole life and know the Bible well. I've never heard a pastor preach about or explain "thou shalt not covet" more clearly or powerfully than this man did. My mind is blown! I truely believe the wisdom of the Bible is meant for all ages and Peter really understands how "coveting" is showing up in our generation!

Cas, I am where you started right now. I have a husband, two small kids and two dogs and I feel surrounded and controlled by the crap in my house. And you, sweet Cas, you are my Peter Walsh. I am so inspired by your channels and your energy. You are helping me take control of my life and my stuff. I am so thankful I found you and I wish I could give you a big hug to show my gratitude.

1. I really want to watch Space Invaders in the US… please bring it here
2. Cas, your episode where you yelled at us to throw our stuff away and get it out of our house was so inspiring to me. Most of the stuff we donate gets trashed anyway and they are overloaded. I donate the best stuff and trash the rest. The freedom/permission to do that has transformed my space in just mere days, instead of months or years of trying to find the perfect home for everything. I feel weightless and that’s caring over to my health and finances now. Thank you Cas!

I love that Peter mentioned the business that recycles 90%, because this tension about disposing "correctly" is a societal problem--and we make it our individual responsibility. That's a mismatch. Cas, until someone solves this societal issue, I think you are right to encourage people to put themselves first!

Cas, I would like to make a suggestion for you. One of the major tools that mental health and wellness providers use is the "Readiness to Change" scale. This asks some questions to determine how close a person is to actually being willing and ready to make changes in their behaviors. I wonder if creating a "Clutterbug Decluttering Readiness Scale" by asking some of the same kind of questions that a mental health provider would ask as a second stage of the Clutterbug quiz. For instance:

As you are decluttering, you find a mug in the cupboard that was a treasured gift, but there is a chip on the lip. Do you:
A. Keep it. It was a gift, it's pretty, and you can maybe drink from the other edge.
B. Acknowledge gratitude for the gift and the use that you've gotten from it and then place it in the trash because it is no longer safe to use.
C. Put it in the donate bin. Maybe someone else would enjoy it.
D. Set it aside for a project. You could use it for holding pens, or a plant, or something.

Using these kinds of questions, you could determine where someone is in their decluttering journey. Maybe Egg, Nymph, and Adult stages, since those are insect metamorphosis stages? You could frame challenges for those who are in different places. Someone who picked A or D could be in the "Egg" phase and might be horrified at the "throw it away" challenge, C answers might indicate the "Nymph" phase where the same challenge would be a worth-while stretch, while someone who answers B is in the "Adult" phase and is like, "yeah, let's do this!" Having something like this, too, could help you tailor both your expectations and your videos for people at points in the journey. Instead of saying, "Ok, everybody, take out something you were going to donate and throw it away", you could say, "Ok, for those of you who are at the Nymph stage, let's try a challenge! Take one item you were going to donate and... throw it away instead!" This means that those who have already self-identified as being at the "Egg" stage can listen in and be amazed at the kind of progress that the "Nymph" and "Adult" members have made, but they aren't feeling directly targeted by a challenge that is probably too much for them.

Just a thought!
