Sheep or goat would be a good investment to keep your property under control

Slugs were decimating my garden, so I finally did raised beds with copper tape near the top edge and I no longer have that problem. Complete game changer.

Just listening to the final comments. We had just commented that Kayvan looks lighter and happier and whether that was due to getting sunshine, more leisure, less work or just not living in the caravan. Perhaps all of the above! Good to see you both dosing up on your wellbeing between all the work!

You could build a shed, a shelter, or a greenhouse in your vegetable garden and collect the water from the roof in water barrels or IBC tanks. That way, you could store your tools, chicken feed, etc., or start growing vegetables, while also harvesting rainwater that can then be used to benefit the garden. This way, you’ll have water close to your vegetables and animals, and if you also get a rainwater pump with a hose, watering will be very convenient.

Totally understand why you need to pull ragwort for ponies, just thought I'd mention that as well as bees and butterflies enjoying it, a number of both species rely on it - including the cinnabar moth. A perfect example of the challenge of balancing the needs of humans and their lives with the wider needs of nature!

I really really really really really really wish I had the money and I would buy you an ATV I'm a great grandma and I live in Western Pennsylvania and it just kills me every week when I watch that you two are dragging things around up that hill

My fortnightly dose. To add to the hard work, if you can squeeze an inch of time in, how about the immediate area around the home, to make it look inviting and welcoming with a few herbs for culinary use or low growing flowering plants. (A lemon tree perhaps). Come on surprise us!!! Anyway, you are doing great. Keep going and thank you for sharing your experience and the progress with everyone.

A friend of mine loves gardening and has a couple of very large polytunnels. He bought a vintage Massey Ferguson 135 tractor for a reasonably small amount of money. He's over 60 and it has completely transformed his ability to keep on doing what he loves.

I dip in out out of your channel, here’s some tested and proven ideas if in high rainfall area, small roof large tank. Or collect water wherever you can. Then or gravity feed pump to high point and feed to elsewhere. Aussies love a tank stand. P. S. I hate pressure pumps and used the above method to great effect! Ergo put a simple roof up at chooks and Vege garden collect water, water chooks and garden. Or if house higher than chooks and garden, collect water at house, run line to chooks and hey presto the water will arrive at a tap there, check in with the Greeks they nailed it centuries ago. Good luck.

I was watching The Hollar Homestead (US) and they use feeder pigs to forage the wild landscapes to battle weed and foliage overgrowth. They work the land and when big enough become meat. Also rotating your chicken coops can help.
