  This bears repeating but LadyN is the absolute GOAT for supporting both her husband and the community of TES deep lore-invested people like her who are here, not in small part, due to her husband&apos;s years&apos;-old writing. And now we&apos;re seeing first bits of Kirkbride returning to writing TES fanfics again. I hope the importance of people close to you and the community, and the ability of people to surpass the shittier parts of their past become the key takeaways of this video, rather than petty discussions about when, where and how Kirkbride is or was problematic for sake of drawing lines of personal purity.

  I&apos;m actually super glad you re-uploaded this because I didn&apos;t know about a lot of stuff. To me, this video doesn&apos;t feel at all like an attempt to &quot;cancel&quot; MK. If anything, I actually sympathize with him a lot, as trying to get off alcohol and benzos is absolutely, brutally nightmarish. Not that it necessarily excuses the more troubling behavior he displayed, but it does explain a lot. <br><br>I think a lot more people need to be comfortable with thinking just a little more critically about the art they enjoy and the artist&apos;s intent behind it, rather than always just enjoying it or shrugging off concerns with a &quot;separate the art from the artist&quot; type statement. <br><br>You CAN absolutely still appreciate the contributions that MK made to the series, as many of them are brilliant. But at the end of the day he&apos;s still a human with flaws like everyone else. I think more Elder Scrolls fans who need to know about MK&apos;s &quot;troubling&quot; history if they&apos;re gonna appreciate his writing, as well as have better understanding of it.

  The age of the Morrowind video essay has spawned a new generation of young acolytes ready to fight for MKs honor in arguments that happened long ago. He&apos;s more an idol than a man to them and it&apos;s a bit concerning.<br><br>I was there when he got himself banned from the TESlore subreddit because he wouldn&apos;t stop saying stuff even worse than the coat hanger thing when arguing with people. He isn&apos;t joking in his apology/explanation, it really was a bad experience whenever he interacted with the community. I&apos;m genuinely glad he&apos;s doing better, and has been for a while, and him having apologized and explained himself in the years since really does mean a lot. <br><br>Just if you have sympathy and understanding for how he acted back then, please also have sympathy and understanding for those who had the displeasure of interacting with him. It&apos;s not a conspiracy if some of those people still think he&apos;s an asshole after he was an asshole to them.

  The first few minutes of this video are a great recontextualization. I watched the two earlier versions of the videos early, before they became available for public comment. So, &nbsp;by the time they were de-listed, I hadn&apos;t had time to revisit the comments and see that you received so much negative feedback. That honestly really sucks, but I think they had a point; your quote from Bill Hader was spot-on. One or two people ranting or raving is one thing. However, a larger group of complaints and a tangible statistic change indicate there is a demonstrable error somewhere, and thus room for improvement, and I think you handled it very gracefully here. I can&apos;t imagine it was easy, but I&apos;m glad that we haven&apos;t lost this video entirely, and I respect your dedication to making high-quality content, even if it means retracing your steps.<br><br>The censoring last time was definitely funny, but I agree it&apos;s probably not the best for this type of video. The blank audioless sections this time, with direct screenshots of Kirkbride&apos;s Fireside Chat, are much better. Also, directly phrasing your opinions as &quot;This is my opinion, I don&apos;t like this story at all,&quot; should resolve the issue some people were having, who felt you were sort of playing coy about your feelings on his work, while still avoiding condemning Kirkbride directly as a &quot;bad person.&quot; (which I feel is important here, in an anthropological sense)<br><br>I particularly enjoyed the touch-up of the shroom and substance controversy section, and the shoutout to his mini-painting! (He is a really good painter, honestly. I don&apos;t know how he does it)
