It's crazy to me that people call Almalexia narcissistic when Vivec is standing right there. Vivek did the most damage to marrowind by far with his ministry of truth stunt.

Impressive, very nice. Let's see Almalexia's skin. Look at that subtle gold colouring, the playful thickness of it. My God... she even has watermark tatoos.

Almalexia is the single mom, Sotha sil is the absent father, and Vivec is the weird uncle

I like the idea that the three of them are a spectrum in all things in the same way that Almalexia is a Chimer, Sotha Sil is a Dunmer, and Vivec is halfway in-between.

Sotha Sil is a hardcore realist, Almalexia falsifies everything about herself, and Vivec believes both lies and truth all at once.

Vivec is a hedonist, Sotha Sil is an ascetic, Amalexia is obsessed with her image as both a high queen and one of the people.

I like the little section you had on how the three members of the Tribunal tried to deal with their betrayal of Nerevar. I've always thought about it rather succinctly after the little interview you get with Sotha Sil in ESO. Sotha Sil chose to deny choice, thus absolving himself. Vivec denies himself, desperately trying to be anyone but Vivec to escape that betrayal. Almalexia denied truth, reinventing everyone's perception of her and the Tribunal so then nobody confronts her about the betrayal of her husband.

Perhaps their guilt is part of why they never achieved CHIM. It's something none of them could cast off, as doing so would require confronting it. Which, as we've seen, is something all of them avoided until their deaths, or fading into the background with Vivec.

It's so so refreshing to see a video discussing Almalexia with the same level thoroughness and respect that people discuss Vivec and Sotha Sil; she's always been a deeply compelling character to me and it's been so tiring to see that the way people talk about her has barely evolved within these past few decades lmfao. This video is absolutely fantastic, +instant subscribe

Im glad you made such a fair assessment of her character. A thing I want to point out for funsies is that cluster B personality disorders, which what narcissism is classified as, isn't just a personality quirk. Its usually a result of trauma as this type of personality became an adaptation for dealing with it.
This framing actually is quite fun for headcannons as you can interpret what possibly made her the way she is, in terms of what events might have caused her personality to shift so hard into this.
Sorry for the rambling, I have peers with the disorder so I always want to highlight that this doesnt make them a bad person outright, though I think therapy could have helped her a bit. Cheers on the great video!

She's my favourite of all the Tribunal. You're probably the first person ever I've come across that shares my opinion on her. To me she feels the most 'human' of all the three, flaws and all. I love this character not because she's good, but because she's so complex, and I love when they write female character like that (usually it's a male character), one that you can't simply say if they're good or evil. We really need mroe Almalexia lore!
