Also. Please take this onboard. Ex GrP repairer. Stop wasting time and money with resin and fluff to add. Buy proper 2 pack filler, cover the whole thing in a skim, and sand it flat. Sand it wet, start with 320 on either a board or orbital, and work up to 600. Wet keeps the dust down and gives you a smoother finish and stops the sand paper clogging.

David, look into fairing compound. It does precisely what you are trying to do - and is a doddle to mix and apply in comparison with what you are using currently. I'm sure West sell it, and Total Boat and probably other vendors also.
