  So just to clear up, Cindy was only here for a staycation 😄 her owners went away and trusted us to look after her whilst they were gone, it was so nice to have her back, but don’t worry, she hasn’t been returned 😄

  I think this dog could have used more time and patience. I know sometimes you guys are in a rush, trying to join your pack, to then get going with routines but he was absolutely terrified. Sitting down calmly - at least one of you - in the garden, no touch, no eye contact, calm meditative mind, waiting for him to trust you would have been the better approach with him. Low energy. Same when the lead got stuck - I know it can be alarming, but your energy freaked him out even more. Noticing, staying calm, approaching calmer, wouldn't have made him wanna run. With a collar or slip lead on, this could have ended badly. There have been quite a few incidents where collars got caught on something even inside a house and dogs dying, so I'm always cautious about leaving a collar/harness and especially lead on them when not supervised or there are objects they could get caught on.

  I think you guys should give more time for the dog to decompress.Trying to introduce to dogs, putting a leash around the head...this <br>is is all even more scary to the dog. I think its too much too soon.

  sometimes patience is the virtue , letting a dog come to you while creating that safe calm environment .no rush let him set the pace and let him decide when he feels safe enough to come to you

  Sit down near him with you back to him ,and just wait , standing with eye contact really frightening &nbsp;to them .

  Her biting the leash instead of y&apos;all shows remarkable self control. She was scared and wanted to bite but she overrode her instincts to bite you and bit the leash instead. What a beautiful girl!

  At first if you two just grabbed a couple of lawn chairs and had a seat he might come up to you.. &nbsp;Relax and ignore him a little. &nbsp;If he sees you relaxed it could help.

  treats, sitting with your back to him and leaving him come a little closer at a time without grabbing to ward him helps ease their nerves

  You rescuers need to watch some Ceaser Mulan videos. No touch, no talk, no eye contact. You are stressing the hell out of your dogs. Let them decompress for gosh sakes!
