  Early 70&apos;s Amtrak has to be my favorite period of Amtrak, the variety each train had was immaculate.

  I find the post BN merger and the Rainbow Era so fascinating. <br>It was such a great time to be a railfan. <br>You just never knew what you were gonna see.

  It&apos;s nice to see somebody took the time to film all these trains. I have been on these tracks many times over the years on my way to chicago. to me train travel is the way to go if your not in a big hurry to get anywhere.

  I am 70 now but I remember my dad putting mom and my sister and myself on the Chicago and northwestern from fondulac to Chicago. And he would then drive alone to Chicago. Thus began my love of train travel!

  I lived not far from many of these locations and may have seen some of these actual trains. &nbsp;But I would have been too young to understand why so many different railroad&apos;s equipment was featured. &nbsp;It all makes sense now. &nbsp;This video is a real historic treasure.
