  In my mind they are the same world thousands of years apart.<br><br>It seems that Squares stance is “they can be if you want them to be” and I think that’s the best choice

  I recall the FF7 ultimania guide book describing Cid&apos;s 2nd airship, the Shera, was not manufactured by Cid, but discovered in an archaeological dig. Its airship design is very similar to something you&apos;d find in FFX&apos;s Spira.

  1 year late but i&apos;ve always believed its two universes, where one is a story within the story and was referenced in Crystal chronicles.

  The farplane and pyreflies and the lifestream are extremely similar with how they work and they both are capable of spawning fiends as well as being an energy source. The Cetra are also very similar to the Summoners as well given how they interact with magic and sending the dead to the farplane, manipulating the pyreflies, communing with the planet and manipulating the lifestream. Also it&apos;s explained in the compilation of FF7 games, specifically dirge of cerberus, &nbsp;that when a planet dies it sends the remnants of it&apos;s lifestream to space to find another planet to live on. So it could be that either the planet of Spira or Gaia has died and found the other over time and that&apos;s why they&apos;re so similar.

  Also too in Final Fantasy 7 Remake/Rebirth enemies are called Fiends and die sort of similarly close to fiends in FFX
