  Paid sick leave (with doctor&apos;s note) is common practice throughout whole Europe. I&apos;d even say From Portugal to Kazakhstan.

Because when you transport a gun in public here, (unless you&apos;re law enforcement or military on active duty) you have to transport it in a locked container. That&apos;s why we don&apos;t see guns here - what is actually a pistol case might look like an innocent suitcase to the untrained eye, so we don&apos;t need to stress. If we see someone running around with a gun out in the open, that&apos;s either a cop - or a criminal on a shooting spree, and we better run as far away from that guy as we possibly can.<br>In most cases, it&apos;s a homicidal maniac.

  In Germany, if you’re sick and can’t work, you get a medical certificate from a doctor. Your employer normally continues to pay your full salary for up to 6 weeks. After that, health insurance takes over and pays around 70% of your gross salary (up to a certain limit) for the same illness, and this can continue for quite a while.   “Krankgeschrieben” means you are officially declared sick for a time and your boss has to respect that. And sick days are not to be deducted from holidays, these are two different things.

  At the grocery store; she didn;t mention that the prices you see on the products or the shelf, are the prices you pay; there is no additional tax, that is already in the price

  I don&apos;t think anyone in Europe goes out in PJs. They’re for sleeping. Wearing them outside just brings all that garden or street dirt straight into your bed. It’s a hygiene thing, not a fashion statement!<br>Kisses from Italy
